If you're looking for exercises that burn a lot and help trim your measurements, today I've got moves that not only burn really well but are great for slimming your belly too, seven of them in all for you to try! I can tell you these 7 moves burn loads of calories, and you can easily do them at home without wasting time going to the gym. If you want to burn fat and shrink a flabby, big belly, hurry up and do these 7 moves! So which moves are they? Let's take a look!
Basic Crunch
The first belly-slimming move is super easy, but as long as you do it the right way and target the right spot, I promise your tummy will get flatter for sure. It's called the crunch. This move firms up your stomach and works your upper abs. It's similar to a sit-up, but you don't lift yourself all the way up. If you're just starting to exercise to lose belly fat, this is a great move for slimming your tummy because it's easy and not complicated: you just have to tighten your abs. Your stomach might ache at first, but as you keep at it, you'll be able to do it for longer and faster.
It's not hard to do at all. Start by lying flat on an exercise mat, then bend your knees up and put both hands by your ears. Once you're in position, tighten your abs and lift yourself up, but not all the way. Then go back down and up again, about 10 times per set.
Bicycle Crunch
This is another move that's really great for slimming and firming your stomach. It builds on the regular crunch but takes the difficulty up a level, and it looks like pedaling a bicycle in the air. It helps flatten your stomach and also gives your side muscles a full workout, so you get nicely toned sides and a more defined waist.
To do it, start in the same position as a regular crunch, but when you lift yourself up, lift your legs too, as if you're pedaling a bike in the air. Your legs alternate with your arms: your left elbow touches your right knee, then your right elbow touches your left knee, and so on. If you're a beginner, you don't have to reach your knees. Just go as far as you can and don't push yourself too hard, because you could injure your muscles.
Leg Raises
The leg raise is a hugely popular belly-slimming move because it's easy to remember. Some of you might think it looks easy to follow, but once you actually try it, it'll leave you panting! This move helps slim the lower belly, which is incredibly hard to reduce. Usually, when you trim your belly, the upper and middle parts go down first, and the lower belly is the hardest to lose. This move will help you slim down your lower belly.
It's really easy to do. Just lie flat on the floor, slowly bend both knees up, then raise both legs up straight, toes pointing at the sky, at a 90-degree angle to your body. Then slowly lower your legs until they almost touch the floor. Don't bend your knees; keep your legs straight. Most importantly, never let your back bend, because it could hurt your back. Then lift your legs up again and repeat about 10 times per set.
Sit Up
The sit-up is an easy move you can do almost anywhere, with no equipment needed. It's also great for slimming your stomach, making it look good and stronger, and it helps build the muscles known as a six-pack, which is a real confidence boost. That's why it's the most popular and best-known move of all.
Sit-ups strengthen your abdominal muscles, but some people end up with tightness and strain in their neck muscles, or other injuries, from doing sit-ups the wrong way. So today I'll show you how to do a sit-up properly, which will help reduce the chance of injury. Start by lying on your back with your knees bent and your feet planted firmly on the floor to keep your lower body stable. Then put your right hand on your left shoulder and your left hand on your right shoulder, with both arms across your chest, or place your hands behind your ears, without using them to pull on your neck. Then slowly lift yourself up, curling toward your knees. Breathe out slowly as you lift, and check while you're doing the sit-up that it's your waist bending, not your neck. Then slowly lower yourself back to the starting position, breathing in as you go down. While you're doing sit-ups, keep your feet hooked together, which makes your lower legs work too. Beginners should aim for 10 sit-ups per set.
Mountain Climber
This is a cardio exercise, and the cool thing about it is that you don't need much space at all to work up a sweat. No running required: with just a little space, you can get sweaty. And believe it or not, this simple exercise makes you sweat really easily, almost without you noticing, and you don't even have to go out for a run. Mountain climbers work your abs, core and thighs, and most importantly, they burn a lot of fat too.
To do it, start in a push-up position: lie flat, then move into a plank but with your arms straight. Your arms are only there to hold you steady. Then switch your legs back and forth quickly, as if you're running up a mountain, without moving your arms. Keep alternating left and right until the time is up.
Flutter Kick
The next move I'd like to share is flutter kicks, another really great move for your lower belly. Besides working your abs and making your stomach muscles firm and toned, it also strengthens your thighs, hips and butt.
It's this good, and it's not complicated to do either. In fact, it's super easy! Start by lying on your back as usual, in a position similar to a regular crunch. Then lift your upper body with your arms flat on the floor, and lift your lower body too (try to use your hips, and don't push with your hands). Then kick your legs alternately, left and right. Keep going until the set time is up. With this move, be careful not to arch your back while you do it, because it could give you back pain.
Russian Twist
This last move is really worth it, because you get two for the price of one: it works both your middle and side abs. Besides mainly working your stomach muscles, it also helps with digestion, boosts your circulation, and stretches your back and spine too.
Here's how to do this move, nice and easy. Start by sitting on the floor with your knees bent and your heels about 30 centimeters from your butt. Then lean back slightly, being careful not to round your back, stretch your arms out in front of you level with your chest, and put your hands together with one on top of the other. Tighten the muscles around your belly button, then twist to the left. You may feel like your body only moves a little, because the movement comes only from rotating your chest, not from swinging your arms. Also pay attention to your breathing: take a deep breath in as you twist back, then twist to the right. That counts as one round. Keep alternating left and right until the time is up.
So, what did you think of today's article? I hope it's useful for everyone who's been looking for this kind of information. Before we say goodbye, I, Dao, want to stress once again that exercise is only one part of looking after your body, and I think everyone can do it, but what really makes the difference is what you choose to eat. So if you've read to the end, besides doing the exercises in the clips I made for you, don't neglect your diet! That's all for today. See you in the next article.
